ST. AUGUSTINE: THE CITY OF GOD

St. Augustine describes the City of God as formed by those who by means of grace renounce the self and turn towards God. They are inspired by the “love of God, even to contempt of self” (St. Augustine 2000, 187).
 
THE THREE WAVES
Socrates claims that a city can be just only if it is ruled by a philosopher king. A philosopher king is a lover of wisdom. Moreover, Socrates defines a philosopher king as one who has the knowledge of what is, as opposed to one who only has opinion or what is partially is and is not.

ON EQUALITY
In Zambia, like in any other country desiring to advance democracy, both government and the civil society, have a duty to not only proclaim the equality of all persons, but also to be seen to do more to promote the ideal.

LEFT VERSES RIGHT
